About us
Collections help us all connect with history. At Myriad, we use a pragmatic, collaborative approach to ensure our clients feel empowered.
Myriad is a national nonprofit consulting firm that specializes in collections preservation and planning for small to mid-sized cultural organizations. From digitization project planning to organizational strategy and facilitation, it’s our mission to bring you practical plans and solutions to help you transform the way you share, manage and preserve your collections and the stories they represent.
What are our values?
Collections matter. Collections provide the foundation for knowledge, creativity, justice, and individual and community identity.
Expertise should be shared. Cultural heritage is a field reliant on knowledge sharing and collaborative learning.
Institutions take work. Nothing happens without people, and people can’t do their work if they do not have sufficient information, resources, and time.
Teams are smarter than lone experts. We’ve gathered together in the knowledge that we bring more to our clients as a collective than we could as individuals. We collaborate with our clients, we don’t dictate.
We have a responsibility to support justice. Collections and institutions are sites of struggle for marginalized people and communities. We work with the assumption that equity is a central goal of the cultural heritage field.
Who are our clients?
Our clients are ambitious, capable of institutional change, and passionate about their communities.
Their collections take many forms including archives, library materials, manuscripts, photography, art and architecture, digital records, audiovisual media, time-based media art, research data, textiles, and art objects.
